WE have all been floored by this post by Rati here, and part of the same thing, I am reviewing the lippies from the same range, I dont own a single product that comes anywhere close to these chubby lip colors, I have tried lip stains but I dont like them much, but these are a totally different story.

The 8 shades available are all equally good, you feel like possessing all of them and there are two or three nudes, a pink, red, orange, berry, there is something for everyone. Today I will share a pink and a pinky nude from the range, both of which are awesome and very wearable, but I think bare dare pink is a great every day shade for office in case you dont want to add much color to your face.

these like you know come with a sharpener and are wooden, these can be sharpened but let me tell you, your heart will melt with so much product being wasted, so wait till it goes completely blunt before you sharpen them. I did not have the patience and wasted a lot of the product :/

These look super cute like the way they are, but the cap could come off easily hence I would not keep it in my handbag. Again, if you apply it directly, the tip could be so blunt that sometimes I dont have control over the product, I have applied the bare dare pink shade with a lip brush and I think it gives me better results with a brush, since I like to outline my lips lightly, which is not possible when the fat pencil is applied directly.

Bare dare pink is a soft pinky nude shade, it comes close to Desert rose from Chambor and I love this shade for days when I have thick black liner on my eyes, this one looks so gorgeous and really balances the look. The finish is creamy glossy and the texture is medium, not very thick like the Sensuous red from the range, and not light like the Lip smacking cherry shade.It is creamy without any glaze or shimmer and is a very good pick for ladies who like to keep their lips muted. Just check that this should not wash you out, when I over do it, it looks all brown and dull on me, so it might wash out some skin tones.

The Lip Smacking cherry is a pink, its a really blue based pink with mauve undertones to it, no doubt it is a very pretty pink and really perks up a dull face but some times how blue it is could be a killer for me, if you go on light with it , then it wont be as blue. I applied this directly and you need to do it well or it could look patchy. The color could look a little glaze-y and shiny, it is not thick or creamy but on the lighter side.

This could look so blue and hence it is not my favorite, I like creamy ones like the Bare dare pink but this is a real face brightener  It looks lovely when paired with a simple black liner too but you have to choose your blush carefully.If you are yellowtoned, then skip this one.

The sharpener has to be kept safely or you could be in trouble with a blunt tip these get be careful of product wastage and and for 699 INR you really dont want that!

Last word:

Awesome fat lipsticks they are, some are creamy, thick and a few are a little lighter.The lippies have some charm to them no doubt, and one of the few available around with similar features. Both the shades are great for those who think nudes dont wash them out and blue based pinks suit them well.For 699 though, there is so much more to consider.

Ladies I went to check out the new 26 shades from Lakme and my my, what a huge disappointment! The SA had some 16 shades of which I am sharing the swatches down below, but out of the 16, ten shades were variants were shades of brown! Light brown, nude brown, dark brown,and there was copper, a shimmer pink which I left behind and then a plum which I picked and rest all browns that I picked for covering on IMBB. Just to be positive, I hope the remaining 10 shades are pinks and peaches, that is what The SA told me!

The shades are exactly like we had seen here, they were no different, okies the numbering was different :p and one huge difference being that now the cap also holds the same number sticker as the base rest everything is just the same!

This shade is a soft nude brown, very light and natural looking and great for day wear. The shade does not have any shimmer or frost and is not matte it is a creme and has that saucy kind of creamy finish, I am quite a fan of the enrich satin creamy finishes, all of them are same.The shade is great for dusky skin as a MLBB shade and it has no peachy tones, it is a pure brown and will add any brightness or color to your face.

These remind me of NYX round lippies in terms of texture and the number of shades, I said NUmber and not the shades, Lakme has only browns, nude browns and dark browns in this range, may be a single plum, red or pink :/ NYX has all the shades possible but I wish Lakme would work on the shades on the same lines.

The lipstick is very creamy, like I said i like the satin finishes, the shade is great too but all the shades are on the same lines like you can see below :( now 26 new shades of brown? who wants that? let us see what the remaining ten shades are like when they hit Chennai. Let us be hopeful

Since it is creamy and light, it stays on for two hours, bleeds a bit and needs a liner for longer wear, I love the shade no doubt but again, all shades are :/….

I need to say that what is so hard about bringing out new shades I mean they do have good shades in their other ranges, then why does Enrich satin, the affordable creamy lipsticks have to suffer with browns and nudes all the time! I will update you on the rest of the ten shades soon.Meanwhile I picked up 9 of the 26 shades that you can see..

And these are ones from the new range I picked up, I can see only one plum and pink..why Gawd why? Even the fragrance is the same and the price too, I wish they had hiked the cost and given us some stunning shades! They are numbered from 5onwards like 564, 565 so on and I saw some 267, 270 too..

Last word:

I love the texture of these but when they say 26 new shades, I expect way more than browns.Let us see how it goes, meanwhile check the nine new shades above,coming up soon…

I have reviewed 569 566 564 565 567  267 from the 26 new shades, this whole collection is a nude lip lover’s dream, lets see how the rest of the three colors turn out to be, will go and check them out this weekend.

The three shades today have two nudes in them,the 270 and the 568 both nice nudes , but you would have seen them a lot of times in the same way, the feel texture packaging everything else. I dont understand if Lakme would not cater to our changing needs,and may be even offer us some variety for ladies who do not like to experiment, who knows what might change but this time, so many nudes, a couple of plums and pinks is too much to handle, you go to the counter, you swatch all, they all look similar and you skip all and come back! I picked up for review purposes so dont count me in.

I had a hard time not mixing up the shades for my pics for you, but now they look all sorted to me. The shades are light an buttery, not thick, very moisturizing and my lips tend to drink them up like the nyx round lipsticks, I like to use them on some base or else they are lost in an hour on me,I think they are too light to stay for long, they would be great on some kind of matte lipstick.

270 is a mauvy nude brown, it kind of makes me look dull, the finish is nice and moisturising, but I think we have all used something similar.

568 is a very pretty peachy brown, adds no color but does not take away any from the face,its my MLBB shade it looks very pretty if you dont have yellow undertones to your skin.this could make for a nice nude lip.

532 is an exception, the black sheep between the nudes. It is a hard core red rusty brick brown, a very deep color.It is best used as a stain and it is meant for little mature women only, however you could mix and match, the texture feels a little oily for this and this brick is not my favorite :(

The packaging again is a boring lakme, so is the price, a new sticker has come up on the cap as well bearing the number but nothing else has changes, no doubt the shades are great but too much similarity is such a turn off I cant tell you! now I need to see some “colors” in this range you know or else it will be mmm lets leave it …lets wait till I see the rest of the ten shades.

They are all so confusing but my pick if 568 for a nice natural polished pout, and another fav of mine is 565 check them out may be get a couple for yourself, it does not hurt much.BTW two of my lippies from this range have broken in a week already.

Today I fell in love with lipsticks all over again! particularly chambor! not only do I love powder mattes, but now it is for Chambor in general! I love lipsticks like you know and I particularly love lippies that have that creamy suacy luscious feel, and this is just one of them!

The lipsticks comes in a pretty slim pack and you get really little quantity though, but it is really worth every paise! I like the simple matte blue packaging and yes it may sound a little overpriced but you have to give it to the brand for being so consistently standard with quality , unlike Colorbar who has gone bad with the velvet matte lipstick!

the shade is an awesome nude, it is like a peachy mauvy nude, when you layer it on it may look a little mauve based, other wise it is a peachy nude. The pigmentation is great but I have layered it on for the lip swatch.

The texture is smooth and buttery, it might look very fragile but it is not, just roll up a little bit of the lipstick and not the whole thing:p or else it is so slim that it may break for sure. The feel is super moisturizing and soft, great for dry lips apparently!

The lipsticks says that there will be a cool tingling feel after application, I had that cool minty sensation for one and half minutes after which I thought my lips looked plumper and saucy, just how I like it It has minty smell too, I quite like it. It glides very soft and it is a delight to apply this lipstick.

Coming to the staying power, it looks glossy for an hour, will not survive a meal and it looks colored for another hour or two like most lipsticks, so nothing significant there since the texture is so creamy, I don’t expect that either.

Over all the lipstick shade and texture is to die for, It did not wash me out though you can get another color but for me this is a very beloved nude any day! Absolutely love it! Wish it wasn’t priced like this though!This is one lipstick I could finish since it is a nude and will repurchase for sure!

Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick – Bare all

I went to Colorbar to buy the velvet matte lipstick called Bare but the SA told me that Colorbar has changed the formula and the names of all the matte lipstick and that Bare All is the same as Bare but just different name and more moisturizing. So I bought it because she was going on and on about how good the new formula is and how moisturizing it is now and it won’t make my lips as dry as the other mattes did.

My take on Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick – Bare All:

So I’m not sure if the Matte Touch is the same has the Velvet Matte. I can’t find any product description about the Matte Touch on the Colorbar site or any other sites. So I have no info on them. So let me begin my huge Rant. Bear with me!

First off, the color on the bullet looks like a nice dark brown. The color on the swatch looks like a nice medium brown. The color on the lips looks like a nice dark peachy color with a bit of brown thrown in it. Oh and let’s not forget the beautiful pink stain I get one hour later on my lips after the lipstick fades away.

*sign, shake my head in disbelief* no it’s not beautiful or nice. This lipstick is a total rip off. If I’m going in to Colorbar to buy a nude matte lipstick, I expect to get a nude Matte lipstick. Not a peachy, creamy, cheap quality lipstick that has no idea if it’s pink or brown or matte or creamy.

The color of this lipstick is almost like Bare. Almost! But it’s not exactly the same, so ill just be reviewing it as some random lipstick that I bought. The lipstick itself is very confused of what it wants to be. It’s not sure if it wants to be brown or peachy. It’s giving mixed signals. I hate mixed signals. That’s why I avoid guys who give such signals. The peachy undertones would look nice on people with fairer skin tones. But I don’t think it will show up so well on dusky skin tones.

Okay, so let’s leave the color of this lipstick aside. If I’m going to be paying 500  on a Colorbar lipstick I expect it to last at least a couple hours. Ten minutes after the application of this lipstick, whatever bit of brown there is starts to disappear, and after an hour the lipstick itself disappears leaving behind a pink stain of my lips. It does not survive meals or snacking. Actually it starts fading after drinking a glass of water.

So, forgetting about the longevity of this lipstick. Isn’t this supposed to be a matte lipstick? I understand that the company has changed the formula so the matte lipsticks aren’t as drying anymore (the SA said, not me), but still there is a huge difference between a moisturizing matte lipstick and a crème lipstick. And this lipstick is clearly nowhere near matte. It has a creamy texture, it has a creamy finish and it feels super creamy when you rub your lips together.
I had not expected something like this from a brand like Colorbar. Hopefully they get there baggage straightened out soon.

Pros of Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick – Bare All:

Umm…. It’s a nice shade to go out and get veggies from the market for the aunties. Lol since it only take 10-20 min to get the veggies I guess.

Cons of Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick – Bare All :

• Longevity.
• Misleading name – it’s not matte at all.
• Expensive.
• Won’t show up on dusky skin tones.
• Leaves behind a stain.

I reviewed the Raspberry Punch last week and this is another one from the same range,I got this online from Lotus Herbals when they had some fantastic offers running. This one I am so surprised hasn’t been reviewed and popularized as it is a gorgeous nude shade, most of us would like to wear this on days we don’t want a bright lipstick.

The packaging is so well thought of, though it is bright but it is really nicely made,the box and the lotus herbals metal badge to the cap, everything.The shade is of course a class apart.It reminds me of the desert rose shade from Chambor. Though it is not as matte, this one is more of a lighter sheer form with tons of moisture.

The lipstick is a creamy and soft one with no shimmer or frost or glaze,it is a nice soft light peachy brown in the nude category. Honestly, we all need these shades and this one is really nice find.The bullet itself seems to gentle and pretty and you need to gentle with it or it might break..it is a light lipstick and the texture too feels very light feathery, not at all heavy. Dry lips would love this one too and girls who like light shade and texture too.

The staying power is pretty average, since the texture is a really light one,it does not feel thick or coat your lips so it would stay 2 hours and it has a glossy shine finish.

I totally feel the shade will not wash out, it looks like a natural lip on me, it does not look white or pale hence I can say it is a good shade for Indian skin tone.Apart from the staying power, you will love everything about this lipstick.

I got some more mac , thanks to Rati and Sanjeev Ji , and my wonderful job, well, I had been yearning to buy some lippies, and my favorite have to be the pro longwear ones.But I decided to stick to something that would be daily wear, I would be able to use it like without any second thoughts and also something that you will love! The shade I picked up will be liked by gloss, nude lips, office wear, college wear and lipstick lovers alike!

The shade I got is in Impressive, the shade is actually the prettiest glossiest nude shade I have ever seen. I think on days I really dont know what shade to wear or I dont have to time to select from my insane stash (BTW I am looking for the perfect dresser for me, with big drawers, I will be organizing soon, but you see there is always this thought of moving out Chennai looming large, so at the moment, hubby has promised me that ultimate chest of drawers for my makeup! )

Coming to the lipstick, I absolutely love the metal packaging it comes in, the lid that fits snugly in and the pretty MAC mentioned on it, I mean what else do you need, travel friendly, classy black and sturdy!

The lipstick feels like a gel lipstick, I mean its like a shiny creamy one, almost like gloss was frozen and then you glide it on and it feels like a gloss and a creamy lippy at the same time. Lol just for people who haven’t tried it yet. The lipstick is super luscious, glides so soft and it has a sheen or gloss, like the name suggests. Since it feels like a gel it wont bleed but it stays very well within the lip line.


I love the color, goes without saying, it looks like a nude, but in different light it looks like a mauve, and the gloss on it toooo pretty. It stays glossy for around two hours, wont bleed but makes your lips looks plumper, and the shade adds some color without being a lipstick that will wash you out, it would stay fresh for three hours without meals, of course the nude color stays but the gloss fades off. One swipe is quite enough to get the ultimate nude glossy lips effect. Great for office, college, smokey eyes, but might not work for pigmented lips. Apart from that I dont think this will wash out Indian skin tone, it really looks natural on me.

VOV Lipstick in shade No. CL-21 Review

Today, I will be reviewing another of my favorite lipstick from VOV. This one is my third lipstick from this brand and I love them to the core.  I am much into natural shades these days and my undying hunt for them made me discover this one. Since my other two VOV lipsticks are matte, this time I thought of trying one of another kind. The shade number is mentioned as CL-21. Though the shade name is not mentioned, it is of natural peach color kind. Testers are available, so one needn’t get confused with the shades.

My Experience with VOV Lipstick in shade No. CL-21:

I have been using it for two weeks now and I have not a single word against it. It won my heart, oops! lips.  It comes in a metal packaging where the shade number is printed on the sticker at one end.

The bullet of the lipstick moves up and down with twisting movement, and the lid closes snugly with a “tick.” This shade is peach with hints of pink, perfect for day wear.

This kind of shades makes lips look naturally pink and not at all made-up. It has medium pigmentation with a buttery texture which is creamy to apply. As a result, it glides softly and allows easy application. It moisturizes my lips in a smooth, even finish that stays as long as 3-4 hours.

The color lightens a little after eating, but doesn’t get transferred easily. It is completely odorless unlike my other two VOV lipsticks.  I am happy they came with the full ingredients list this time.

Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color – Red Chaos

Another Lakme lippy from the 15 new ones they have released, I am so thrilled to share the reveiws on these becuase of the colors they have come out with, see this one named red chaos but is an out and out peachy nude, now how can you say no to this pretty color, meanwhile have you seen the other two shades in PInk bureau and Scarlett drill?

I think they are improvisation on the earlier nine to five which were little dry and sticky too, but these are matte, buttery, pigmented, set but softly, not really into a rough dry feel, they are feather light like not wearing a lip color at all and these are packaged a little rounder this time and have this pretty graphic “9 to 5″ come in a box pack and the shades, oh la la!

The shade is a very light peachy nude, it is not red like it is named, you can even say this is lighter than Scarlett drill and may be on the same lines. I love the shade it is creamy and not delicate that it would break, the texture is feather light, its like wearing no lipstick at all, but honestly i think the pigmentation could be better, I know its a nude shade but I need to swipe it thrice to show up, so may be pigmented lips might not find it best for them.

The color is matte but not dry or cakey, it has no shimmer and it does not have a creme finish but light matte one, the best past is that it has no shimmer or frost or glaze.

The staying power is NOT 9 to 5, this color stays on about 2-3 hours with light meals and may be 3 plus without meals, but the color is very light, you really need to layer it on, to show kind of peach to it.

This one is lighter in shade and texture and honestly it feels so light, I did not find it dry too. This could be a great shade for day wear, college, office, and makes for a very nice peachy nude.

IMBB Rating:

4.9/5 could be a little more pigmented but nothing wrong right now either.

Like I mentioned, the collection has all nudes and wearable shade, just a single wine and red but most other peachy nude mauvy nudes and the like, this one again comes close to a peach nude, well almost nude, and i love such shade because I dont wear milky nudes or baby pink kind of shades, on the contrary I love shades like this one and Chambor Desert rose, because they dont add much stark color but still dont wash out your lips off your face.

I love the pakacging, simple shiny pink and they have been named as well, yeee…they have 15 shades so far I know and all are light day wear ones, so office goers check out your closest Lakme counter this weekend for sure.

This shade is a pure creamy matte but very light on the lips and glides very well. The shade is light but you can see it covers the lips, so I guess pigmented lips could also count on this one, it feel very light, and one coat could not be heavy but two coats and you might see this settling in the lip lines a bit, overall very non-drying for a matte lipstick honestly and very feather light feel too.

This color could be a great nude shade or MLBB for fair to medium skin tones and the little peachy brown it has you can never go wrong with it.Love it!

I pair it with very black liquid liner, and kohl too if I am wearing one, without meals it stays on for four hours lightly and with meals 2 plus not more, one coat is advisable to keep it light and non drying.
I think many shades are starting to looks similar so I will swatch my whole collection very soon, as soon as I decide whether I am getting any more from these or not

On pigmented lips it will come out darker, I have light lips, hence it is looking lighter than in the swatch, you could also pair it up with a gloss o use a lip liner as a base may be to bring out more color, I like it like this as I could layer it on and on and still it would never be loud.

Clinique Color Surge Lipstick – Buff

So as I told you guys I got two Clinique lippies in a make-up kit gifted  by a relative of mine. There were two shades in there: Pink glamour and buff. I have earlier reviewed the pink glamour one . This is the second one from the kit. I loved how they kept very two different shades in the kit. One being very dark and stunning, they have kept the other one very mild and subtle, you can basically call it a nude one. They packaging was very dull so they have innovated a bit and changed the packaging into a silver glamorous one and the y have innovated a bit on the shades and the range is called Clinique color surge butter shine lipsticks.

My experience with Clinique color surge lipstick – Buff:

I pretty much loved the pink glamour from this range. It was a fabulously stunning shade. Now talking about this one, it is packed in a light aqua packaging which has nothing to do with creativity, just a plain one that’s it. The material that they have used is pretty good and it does not break , as everyone fears that as some of the lipsticks develop cracks on the packaging easily. It a turn round and open lipstick and it is pretty convenient to carry as well. I had really high expectation from this one as had a good experience with the previous one. I opened it up to see what shade was that and it was a very decent mild nude shade and when I swiped it on my hand it looked really pretty and fresh. I love such nude colors so liked this one as well. But the smell is really sad, it is like how a typical lipstick smells, very artificial.

This kind of a shade may be suitable only for day wear,  if you apply this at night, it wont be noticeable. The color does not come out like pink glamour, I swiped the lipstick at least 5 times on my lips and finally the actual color showed up on my lips. So  the product usage is more. It did glide smoothly on my lips and the shade did not even settle up in fine lines. The shade is not completely matte and when I actually saw the lipstick I thought it was matte. It has a glossy finish which I personally did not like because it does not look natural on the lips, it looks very artificial and shiny. And it makes my skin look darker I don’t know why, I think because the shade is too nude. It survived glasses of water but half of the color had gone off after I had my dinner but I was expecting it to stay longer. I think that happened because pink glamour was too dark and this was a lighter one so did not stay that long. Overall, it is nor a good one neither that bad, it comes into an okay category. But honestly speaking we have far better nude lipsticks from the other brands which are totally worth the price.

Pros of Clinique Color Surge Lipstick – Buff:

-East to carry.
-Convenient packaging and does not break.
-Not available separately but online stores do sell them.
-Creamy texture so glides on smoothly onto the lips.
-Lasted for like 3 hours and while sipping water it does not go off at all.
-Decent shade for people who do not like those brighter ones.

Cons of Clinique Color Surge Lipstick – Buff:

-Price higher for the product if compared to the quality.
-Dull and boring packaging.
-The shade has a glossy finish which does not look natural, looks very artificial.
-Makes my face look darker.
-Needed to swipe 5 times at least for the colour to pop up perfectly.

Will I repurchase/recommend Clinique color surge lipstick-Buff?

No, neither will I repurchase or recommend as it did not live up to the expectations that pink glamour created and there are more better nude shade available in the market which give a very natural look which most of us like.

11 Elle 18 Color Pops Lipsticks From my Collection

Today when Swati mentioned in her lipstick review that we should have 10 of these, I went back to see how many I had and I realized I have ten so I thought why not compile some lipsticks and see how you like them. There are loads of more elle18 color pops on IMBB so check them out below.

So lets start..I should tell you that except berry brook, none of the shades have any obvious shimmer, all the shades are awesome and worth having of course I will list my favs at the end, you can read all the shade reviews with the links..and check out these look on the lips in the individual reviews

Hot Pink and PInken:

Hot pink: This one is a blue based pink shade and i really love it, it is super creamy, no shimmer and pigmented as well. I think fair skin tone will love it a lot. It is a very young shade and it is a a must-have from this range.

Pinken: This one again is a nude pink and is a must have, it is creamy but not as pigmented. It has no shimmer and suggest this shade to all complexions and it is great for office and college wear if you dont like much color on your lips.

Pomegranate pie, Mystery Mauve, Berry Brook:

Pomegranate pie is my absolute fav, it is just the right creamy mauve pink and really suits all complexions kind of pink IMO, I am actually thinking of buying a back up of this since it is a creamy shade with such an awesome price tag.

Mystery mauve : It is like a dirty mauve purple shade, it is super creamy as well and breaks easily like many of the above, it makes me look a little darker but I think darker skin tones will like it better.

Berry brook:

This one is a lighter version of Mystery mauve but it has a lot of silver shimmer to it nevertheless is a great shade.

Rusty, Cinnamon Bun, Cranberry:

Rusty: again a must have if you like orangey shades, it is not as pigmented but it is fine to wear it lightly since it goes on bright, recommended fair skin tones and younger women.

Cinnamon bun: This one is again a light nude shade, it barely shows up on me and makes for a great office wear and it is creamy i do wish it were more pigmented, college girls can check this out.

Cranberry:

A creamy brown bronze kind of shade, it does not have shimmer but yes it is kind of little metallic, but if you like browns, try this one, super pigmented, creamy and nice for darker skin tones.

Roasty red, rosy blush, Pink fever:

Roasty red is a nice brick kind of shade, it is a light brick so should suit every body, creamy but pigmentation could be better.

Rosy blush:

This is a nice red to have, really brightens face, is creamy but could be more pigmented, no shimmer, so if you like orange reds, try this one.

PInk Fever:

This is not my favorite but it comes in a nice maroon brown metallic sheen kind of shade, it looks better on the lips than in the tube, very creamy and pigmented, mature women would like it better.

I’m sorry half of them have melted, need to be done away with after this post and some need to be repurchased, these are so fragile these will break with the slightest amount of pressure. Some have gotten old but most of them turn crumbly very soon. Use them with a brush if you dont want to break them.

You might have seen these goodies Rati sent me to review BUt seriously I have fallen in love with lipsticks all over again, I saw the intense creamy pigmented rouge plump lipsticks again and saw how wonderful all shades are, no shimmer, all creamy sensous color with a minty feel and end up giving you a full lip effect. The colors are to die for!

Order 701 to 705 left to right:

I am lurrvvvviinnng these lipstick, they hit you at once with the creaminess and pigmentation. I already have reviewed 701  so take a look at the review there.

701:
This is a pure creme orange shade, but the right orange, most of us can wear this and it really perks up the face,makes your skin brighter and the finish is creamy glossy but in a fuller lips way, not in a wet lip look. Totally love this one, the texture should cover lip pigmentation, one swipe is enough and after an hour, the glossiness goes, and it stays on for two more hours and then fades evenly.

702:

Just today morning I wore it again and went absolutely crazy for the shade, this is like th perfect warm pink and this would cut well across all skin tones, creamy, pigmented, simply a decently awesome color, love it. This one is a must-have!

703;

This one again is an orange but it is a very bright orange, only fair skin tones can carry this, very creamy, pigmented and this is not as thick as the top two, but one swipe if just enough, if you are into neon brighter oranges, then get this one, recommended to fair skin.

704:

This one is a pure maroon red kind of shade, insanely creamy and pigmented, one swipe could be loud and vampy, and this is THE colo for brides and for evening wear. I think all skin tones could do justice to this one and it really brightens the face.Gives a creamy finish.

705:

A red again, this is brighter than 704 and again a very bridal shade, very creamy and pigmented and could be used as a stain, love this red but can be carried at night or evenings only. It is a blood red that most skin tones would like. The finish for this one is glossy.

Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick – 39 Coffee Creme

This is the other one I got, in the bulk of the ones that are already here on IMBB, actually I read the reviews and bought them so I ended up buying so much, thanks to IMBB But I am loving it, I realized this shade has not been reviewed so here it goes…

The name suggests this is gonna be some kind of brown, thank god it turned out to be a light nude yellow peach kind of brown, I loved the name and they have one more with the name of cocoa creme, which is a dark brown but this one is sheer nude kind of a shade.

The packaging is super cute but I dont think you might want to carry it around, the label also mentions the name and the number and the cute black cap is in a bullet shape, for 100 bucks it is super good.

The lipstick has a sweet vanilla kind of smell and like i said I dont enjoy Vanilla at all, and specially if it is artificial sweet kind of a smell, this one is just too sweet,but it vanishes in some time.

The lipstick is sheer, you really have to be build it up for some color to show but it is alright since it is more or less a nude shade, the yellow undertones to it dont do anything for my skin tone. I dont like the sheer ones from elle 18, not that it is bad lipstick but you have swipe it on and on to come to the true color.

The finish is glossy and the texture is moisturizing, I dont think pigmented lips will enjoy it much, and if you have yellowy skin tone, then avoid it altogether. The staying power is pretty poor considering it is sheer, dont expect any more than 2 hours from this one and it transfers a lot too.

Over all a simple nude brown kind of sheer lipstick but I think for 100 bucks I did not really ask for diamonds.

So I an reviewing 4 more beauties from the RP+ range, lipsticks that are butter, and once you go to the counter, you wont be able to pick one, all 24 shades are good, since they are all creamy and pigmented. I am bowled over but the packaging and the amount of the lipstick you get and the fragile nature of the lipstick sometimes gets me thinking .

So today we have 2 pinks, like really unqiue pink, one is an orchid pink and another is a hot pink, the other two one is a soft nude pink and the last is a mauvy pink, so rejoice pink lovers.

In transit, the caps came off and a lot of the buttery lipsticks got damaged unfortunately.But I was sad because they are so creamy and you get a little slim lipstick there and if some of it is gone, hardly anything would be left, I have dropped them a 1000 times and the base with the label comes off and the lid breaks and what not, basically you can even hear them rattle since they are so plastic-y :(

Shade 748: This one is for you Sabrina  This is the prettiest hot pink in my collection and it is pure cream, really pigmented and really coats the lips beautifully, no shimmer or frost, just perfect, you can use this with a lip brush since this is insanely pigmented and things could go out of control.This one does not stain and lasts for 3 plus hours but it might bleed since it so luscious, great for fair skin and dry lips.

  Shade 746: This is a nice soft glazy nude pink, very creamy and can be built up, ideal for college and office and day wear, this too has little glossy finish to it but nothing over the top. Highly recommend this to light lipstick shade lovers.It wears for same two to three hours and wont bleed, since it is lighter in texture than the above. Smooth and creamy for sure.

Shade 747; This is probably the most unique lipstick in my collection, it is really bright, only some skin tones can carry it.This is an orchid shade with strong blue undertones, very very pretty but I wear on it clear skin  days only, a very creamy luscious pigmented shade, if you can carry such blue based shade, this is a must-have!

  Shade 744:

This is a mauvy pink and I think this will really suit dusky skin tones, very pretty sophisticated in person and has a creamy glossy finish and is very pigmented as well, use really less or it might bleed but love this color too, hard to choose one color from this range and say this is my favorite,all are so creamy luscious  and pigmented that I am lucky I have all

I have fallen for the shade read my lips. When ever I want a stronger pink pout, i reach for that hot pink shade, and hence I thought why not try a nude shade from the same range, Read my lips was quite matte and but this one goes one a little sticky and no so matte, I might have used many such lipsticks before, nevertheless it is a good shade

The name is clearly lifted from mac’s “pro longwear” never mind that, the shade is a nude not really very peach but a soft brownish nude, I would compare it very much to desert rose from Chambor. The texture is a little sticky, it glides on smoothly but it kind of sets to a sticky finish, it does not set to a matte but to a sticky finish which probably makes it a little smudge-resistant and also long lasting.

The pigmentation is good and I would say it works like a layer on the lips, pigmentation will be hidden, this kind of nude might wash out some and it does not do anything to brighten my face, it really keeps the lip makeup simple and hence it is apt for office, I think all skin tones can try this one, in case you wear such warm nudes.

What I reckon many wont like is how it sets in the fine lines, it does not look like dry matte, I dont find it dry but yes the look appears to be dry and the lip lines are seen, I wont call it cakey or dry but extremely dry lips can avoid, but it is in no way a dry lipstick. The settling issue will be avoided if you like to wear glosses on top.

I wore this for three hours without food, it stays as it is, with meal, it vanishes from the inside of the lips and then it looks horrible, so it will survive light meal and in case you dont eat for five hours (not recommended) then I think it would stay put.otherwise, three hours or more I would say.

So in case you like such shades, and are not worried about them settling into the lip lines and washing you out, try it, it is pigmented enough and stays well but feels a bit sticky, not very bothersome.

Colorbar Diva Lipstick in 001 For Keeps

So, I have reviewed some different products over the past few days, but out of all products, the ones I use most are lip products. Thanks to Neha, I have been inspired to try lipsticks in just the last few months, and I have never looked back. I have built a small collection of my own; (of course it’s nothing compared to hers) enough for my mom to comment on how much I’m spending on this stuff *hihi*.

So last time I was at the Colorbar counter buying a nail paint remover, somehow this caught my eye when the SA suggested this shade. On the one hand, it looked like a true nude shade, but on the other hand, I didn’t know whether I’ll be able to pull it off. Encouraged by the SA, I bought it just after swatching it on my hand.

Okay, let me talk about the finer details first.

Description: Be the true diva that you are with this collection. Apply lipstick for a worthy cause. Part of the proceeds of every DIVA lipstick will go towards Colorbar AIDS fund. Uniquely packed in a silver and red casing, this lipstick is for all those Diva’s with a soul!

Price: Bought it for Rs.450 (for 4.2gm or 0.14oz) somewhere in Saket, New Dehi.

Ingredients: It’s a pain for me to copy all of them from the box, so I’ll just post a picture here

Packaging: It comes in a round cylindrical silver tube with the brand name written on it, and when you open the cap, there is a red metallic part forming the upper half. The lipstick snaps shut with a click ensuring the cap is closed. It seems like it can handle travel well. Now, maybe this is the time to wonder, I never understood why Colorbar calls itself Colorbar USA? It seems like they’re confused about where they belong!

My take on Colorbar Diva Lipstick in 001 For Keeps:

So, as I said, I bought this lipstick without trying it on at the counter, and when I came home and tried it for the first time, I looked horribly washed out. I was thinking about my own foolishness, but I needed to do something. I could either give it to my mom, who is pretty fair, and it would look good on her, or I could try to work with it. So I tried out different things for months, and recently, I discovered that if I wore this with a particular shade of blush, I didn’t look washed out at all! In fact, it looked like a really nice true beige-nude shade without undertones of pink. Also, I suppose it would go really well with a smokey eye (Kim Kardashian-esque).

As for the lipstick, it is really creamy and smooth, goes on easily, and the color payoff is great in even one swipe. You can build up the color more. After wearing it for a few minutes, it feels very light and you forget you’re wearing anything on your lips. It doesn’t settle in fine lines or accentuate them. It lasts for a decent amount of time, around 2-3 hours with a meal and about 4 hours without, after which it fades evenly, and looks like a soft nude – still pretty good! Overall, I pretty much liked the formula of the lipstick, and wouldn’t mind trying out more from this range! And now that I know how to work with the shade, I still have somewhat mixed feelings for it, but mostly good since it’s such a different shade from what I have owned.

Pros of Colorbar Diva Lipstick in 001 For Keeps:

• True beige nude without undertones of pink
• Creamy smooth texture
• Good color payoff in a single swipe
• Sturdy packaging. Would survive travel
• Feels very lightweight on lips. Doesn’t settle in fine lines.
• Fades evenly after a long wear time of about 4 hours
• The proceeds go towards and AIDS fund (I found this on a website)
• Good quantity for the price

Cons of Colorbar Diva Lipstick in 001 For Keeps:

• No indicator for the shade so it’ll be difficult to identify if you have more than one of these
• I’m not particularly fond of the red/silver packaging combo

It’s a good nude shade, especially for those who can carry it off well. It would work great when the eye makeup is heavy and you want to downplay your lips. It also works for duskier skin tones with some tweaking.

I’ll recommend the range, because the texture is pretty good. I think I won’t repurchase this particular shade though (or maybe I will…I have started getting fond of the shade!).

OMG I am so thrilled at the review of these pretties, I mean never have I seen so many colors in one range of lipstick and these are so gorgeous and saturated with color, creamy glossy and saucy and these ones are real beauties, a deep red brown, two nudes, well taupe is not a nude but looks like one on me and another a deep purple which is super vampy but the pigmentation will amaze you!

Infatuation, bitter chocolate, taupe, deeply mauved

These lippies are so pretty to look at, they click lock and are very sturdy and the range that you get from them is awesome, so many pinks and so many nudes and though they call themselves creme they feel very glossy and saucy, so I would say these really help a lot in making lips look fuller and plumper, and dry lips will love equally well, not many of them stain one me but yes I am a little wary of colorbar lippies on the staining front.

I will start with my fav shade from these four:

Taupe:

This is a yellowy nude brown, a light brown may be but it is so flattering on most Indian warm skin tones that it makes this lipstick a must have, it is soft and creamy and very pigmented, and it has not shimmer, it has a light glossy soft finish and it looks awesome, it makes the lips look fuller too. I will say this is perfect for office wear and day wear since it is light and still adds some thing to your face,it transfer easily and staying power is above average.

Bitter chocolate:

This is a reddish brown and it really looks very classy, it is not a deep brown so it makes me looks lighter and more even skin toned and it is super pigmented and creamy.The finish on this one is also creamy and no shimmer what I love is how it is a nice maroon brown but still not very mature and looks very pretty, it is a late twenties color but not a young color.:)

Deeply mauved:

This is one helluva vampy shade, it looks very very deep and dark purple and very blue and the pigmentation really amazes me it might get uneven since it is so deep you can spread it well with a brush or fingers, using the lipstick might make you swipe the color on and on and make it very dark , this is best used as stain or with a brush,it stains me a bit honestly but I think the color makes it do so. It has a creamy finish and not glossy much. Staying power is superb but meals make it look patchy..

Infatuation:

This was on my wish list since the time I saw it on the store,it is peachy nude but somehow it does not wash me out, it is one of the rare colors that is light but still does not make you look dark but still attributes a nude lip qualities to your face, it is suited for fair skin and it might wash out some, the finish is super creamy and glossy but it transfers a lot, but I love this shade for a nude lip.

You have to check out the shades on IMBB for your kind of color, they have so many shades that you have to pick up a few, very pigmented reach creamy glossy lippies, I love them!

These are the last three from the silk touch lipsticks, and I am so sad these came to end, I mean the reviews because these are fab lipsticks, creamy and yet light and they have a lot of shades to offer, today I have three pretties, a nude, a plum and another nude coral shade, take a look.

Silk coral:

I had seriously underestimated this lipstick, this is a beautiful light nude coral and it does not wash me out, rather it looks like an MLBB shade perfect for darker eyes, it is super creamy and light and saucy and it has no shimmer. Staying power is above average but it might transfer a lot but love this color, fair to medium skin tones can try it for sure.

Silk raisin:

Omg this is a gorgeous plum wine kind of a shade and it really perks up the face, it looks very mature but in person it is so pretty, it is light to wear and does not look like a harsh plum, I think it stays pretty well and it dos not stain at all, I like the sophisticated look it gives, late twenties and above can try it and all skin tones can carry it.

Silk woods:

This is again a shade I underestimated, it looks like it will wash me out but it is a pretty nude brown and not very white looking hence I don’t mind wearing it with darker eyes, I think fair skin can carry it and I like the hint of brown in it. A super creamy but comes with a semi matte kind of finish, all the above will be great for dry lips, this one wont stay long but it does not bleed.

These are light creamy and pigmented lipstick, dry and pigmented lips will love it too and I seriously suggest you get some of them!

Biotique Bio Lip Color – Plantain

Hello All!

I was ordering a couple of products from a shopping site when this brand of lipsticks caught my fancy Now I was aware that Biotique had a range of cosmetics, but they had never piqued my interest ever. However, while navigating the online store I came across them and ordered one of their lipsticks. The shade that I got was “Plantain” and this is what I am about to review for you today. Read on to find how this lipstick fared on me.

My Experience with Biotique Bio Lip Color in the Shade Plantain:

The lipstick case is a cylindrical, black and golden one with the company name emblazoned in white on the black casing. It is not really easy on the eyes but the fact that it is super sturdy makes up for its unexciting packaging. The cap closes on to the case with a distinct click and would not open on its own in any case, thus making it safe to carry in the bag.

The lipstick has a very mild smell, something that people can ignore. This shade of lipstick is creamy and moisturizing and glides on the lips smoothly. The colour is a nude-pink, suitable for everyday use, even for wearing at work. This shade will look good fair and wheat-ish complexioned women. Darker beauties might want to steer clear of this shade as it could wash them out. I am not sure if this shade would suit the cool or the warm skin tones. I am neutral and I like how it subtly brightens my face.

The staying power of the lipstick is very less. With no food or drink intake, it would survive for around three hours. I think the staying power can be increased by using a lip pencil as a base but I’m too lazy to that. Also, it transfers very easy. The pigmentation is not all that great. It takes four or five swipes of the lipstick to become perceptible. Make sure you wear a very light lip balm underneath. Don’t slather on copious quantity because that would inhibit the colour from showing. Also, if you have pigmented lips like me, do not expect it to cover it up. I like one thing, though. With time as the lipstick fades away, it does not settle in the creases.
On the whole, good budget lipstick. The availability of this lipstick might be an issue. I’ve only noticed it on online stores and Big Bazar. But if you find it do try it if you are on the lookout for budget lipsticks. They have lots of nice shades.

• Creamy.
• Moisturizing.
• Sturdy case.
• Safe for bags.

Cons of Biotique Bio Lip Color in the Shade Plantain:

• This brand of lipsticks is not easily available.
• Transfers very easy.
• Staying power is not that great.
• Boring packaging.
